Priorities

I wanna finish playing Pokémon Black, but I feel like I’m wasting time that could be better spent helping real cute things. T^T 

We received a baby Barred Owl on Sunday with a broken wing. We put it in the same container as the small Barred we received on Friday so we could set up the examination table. Heading south on 95 yesterday. Saw an ahinga/cormorant to the left of the HOV lane. Had an injured wing. Got off the highway, went north, then went south again to go get him so I could bring him to the South FL Wildlife Center… u_u Poor guy probably freaked out then was hit by the time I made it back around… It was rush hour. The WCC said 3 other people called. So at least 3 other people cared. I talked to my co-worker and she made me think that he might have been sick to even want to come near 95… It was a matter of minutes when I saw him again. It was a quick passing. u_u I’m sorry little guy.  Next post will be a happy change to this day.

These two cockatoos represent our only ‘constituency’, our only reason for being. Neglect and abuse led them to pluck out their own feathers and to deliberately injure themselves. But at least they were rescued from their despair and taken in to a loving home. In this website, we report on parrots who died from starvation, from smoke inhalation, from communicable diseases—carcasses in large numbers tossed into the trash or stuck into a freezer. It is too late for them. It is not too late for the others.
